What is Shock Wave Therapy?

Dry Needling is a treatment in which a thin filament needle such as those used in acupuncture, is inserted into the muscle directly at a trigger point. These needles are used to increase muscle relaxation and decrease pain. Dry Needling may be used by your Osteopath or physiotherapist to assist in achieving better results in your treatment.

What to expect from
Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a thorough and concise step by step process typically including:

  • Identification of problem area involving probing and light massage, largely executed according to feel on behalf of the practitioner and in conjunction with the patient
  • Gel is applied to the area located and is necessary to transfer the waves efficiently and smoothly
  • Finally the Shockwave applicator is delicately pressed against the problem area and images are transferred back to the monitor
